Scott Disick is known for his extravagant lifestyle. He’s also known to endorse a variety of things on social media now including Bitcoin and cryptocurrency.
On Tuesday (October 17th) at 6:02 AM Scott tweeted from his official Twitter account a simple, but powerful message: “I love bitcoin”. The tweet has since been removed, but we were able to grab a screenshot of the tweet prior to it being removed.
Why was the post taken down? That we do not know. Perhaps, he was paid by a whale in the crypto industry to post it for a certain period of time.
It doesn’t appear Scott is the most active on Twitter. Outside of the since-deleted Bitcoin Tweet, his most recent Tweet was from June 6th promoting a live streaming app. His Twitter account only displays three tweets from this current year. However, it’s important to note “Lord Disick” does have a large following on Twitter with 6.78 million followers.
The Tweet was not the only thing we noticed connecting Lord Disick to cryptocurrency. His Twitter handle and avatar both make cryptocurrency references. Scott’s avatar is the most blatant cryptocurrency reference. His current avatar features a photo of him with the Bitcoin symbol on his t-shirt. This avatar has been live for a few days.
You’ll also notice Scott changed his display name on Twitter to include [no2x]. What exactly does that mean? According to a post on Gizmodo, [no2x] is derived from the recent Bitcoin “hardfork” with one fork being “Segwit2x“.
“Segwit2x” is a solution to enhance the speed and number of transaction Bitcoin can handle. According to the same source, Scott Disick also posted another Tweet regarding Bitcoin and “Segwit2x” (that we were unable to screenshot and verify) stating that:
“Bitcoin = Bruce Jenner, Segwit2x = Caitlyn Jenner #no2x @JihanWu @rogerkver @ProfFaustus— Scott Disick [no2x] (@ScottDisick) October 17, 2017”.
It appears Scott is opposed to this “hardfork” perhaps because it is a departure from how Satoshi Nakamoto originally established Bitcoin in his whitepaper. Scott also tagged Dr. Craig Wright in the Tweet. Some believe Dr. Wright to be the real Satoshi Nakamoto.
Whatever the case, it appears Scott wanted to open the door for speculation. After all, the Kardashians/Jenners are all about speculation, with two of the Kardashian/Jenner girls currently “speculated” as being pregnant, with neither of which denying or confirming the news. It seems Scott might be giving cryptocurrency enthusiasts something to talk about, or he could be profiting off of his endorsement in some way.
It will be interesting to see how Mr. Disick’s involvement in the cryptocurrency space will evolve or “dis”-solve.
