CNBC Launches New Cryptocurrency Facebook Page

CNBC launched their CNBC Crypto Facebook page yesterday (October 5th). They describe their page as “the destination for cryptocurrency news”. In the 24 hours since the launch, the page has already garnered almost 3,200 likes. Overnight the page grew by 2,200 likes.

Questions arose as to the authenticity of the page, however, CNBC verified on the official Facebook page the creation of CNBC Crypto.

Since it’s launch yesterday, the CNBC Crypto Facebook page has shared numerous post including information about the man who runs “Bitcoin Venezuela”, interview content from Social Capital’s Chamath Palihapitiya, and informative Bitcoin video’s among others.

CNBC was launched in April of 1989 and is a subsidiary of NBCUniversal. CNBC describes themselves as “the world leader in business news”. CNBC provides real-time business information and financial information to over 340 million homes worldwide, including 95 million households in the US and Canada.

Some of CNBC’s popular programming includes “Squawk Box”, “Power Lunch”, “Closing Bell”, “Mad Money with Jim Cramer”, “On the Money”, and “Fast Money”.

It’s exciting to see CNBC supporting cryptocurrency and will be sharing the happenings of the industry across the world. There’s no doubt CNBC will bring more attention to this exciting industry as it begins to mature.
