After launching the CNBC Crypto Facebook page last week and acquiring 16,711 page likes in the past 6 days, CNBC’s Fast Money Host Melissa Lee, tweeted she’ll be hosting a special Cryptocurrency edition of “Fast Money” today, (October 10, 2017) airing at 5:00 PM EST.

“Fast Money” airs on CNBC weeknights at 5:00 PM EST and is “America’s Post-Market Show”. The show is hosted by Melissa Lee along with a roundtable group of top traders and describes itself as breaking through “the noise of the day” to bring viewers “actionable news that matters most to investors”.

It appears this would be the first full feature show dedicated to cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency related videos and programming has long been featured on YouTube, Facebook Live, Netflix, and other social media platforms; however, this would be the first time cryptocurrency programming will be broadcasted by the mainstream media in a dedicated news format program.

This could potentially mark a huge turning point for cryptocurrency, with rival networks like Fox Business Networks, or Bloomberg, following suit. As mainstream media jumps on board with cryptocurrency, we could potentially see more use for the currencies and blockchain technology which will create more value for the currencies.
